If we could name an official scent for the month of January, it would be Rosemary! This is one of our favorite oils for the winter season—it’s fresh, woodsy aroma is perfect for the energy of the New Year, yet still earthy and comforting enough to keep it feeling cozy through the cold winter.
What is Rosemary Essential Oil?
Rosemary is steam distilled from the needle-like leaves of the Rosemary officials plant. It helps overcome mental fatigue and can improve mental clarity and focus, but also has powerful purifying properties. In fact, prior to the 21st century, Rosemary was used in French hospitals to purify the air.
How to Use It
For a fresh, air cleansing scent diffuse Rosemary paired with any citrus oil. Rosemary and Lemon is bright and fresh while Rosemary diffused with Orange is comforting and homey. We also love it diffused with other herbal aromas like Peppermint and Thyme or Cypress and Basil to encourage focus and mental clarity.
The uses for Rosemary are seemingly endless, but we especially love it in a Tension Roller with Peppermint, M-Grain, and carrier oil. Topically, you can also combine a few drops of Rosemary and Tea Tree with a carrier oil and massage into the scalp for a nourishing and refreshing hair and scalp treatment.
